Data Analyst

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities 

  • Works and collaborates with others on projects and special projects as assigned.
  • Provides reliable delivery of targeted project results through role as expert in the application of SAS.
  • Understands, utilizes and communicates best practice methodologies and industry standards internally and externally.
  • Scopes and defines work effort, resource plan, and estimates effort on phase/project.
  • Builds a trusted relationship with the Account Executive and client account to provide practical guidance in the functional and technical aspects of delivery and set proper expectations to ensure customer satisfaction.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • Skilled in data manipulation and transformation of large SAS Data Sets including merging, sorting etc.
  • Streamlines the data extraction and reporting processes using SAS Macros / PROC SQL
  • Helps translate requirements into design of efficient SAS data structures
  • Ability to use SQL programming in SAS to interface with existing Teradata, DB2 and Oracle databases
  • Health Payer domain experience is preferred
  • Good problem solving, organizational, decision-making
  • Sound written & oral communication and interpersonal skills

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • SAS, SQL & RDBMS must
  • Descriptive statistical knowledge
  • RDBMS: Teradata, Oracle, Oracle & DB2
  • Experience in Tableau/Cognos will be preferred
