AWS Systems Administrator

We are looking for a talented AWS Systems Administrator to join our expanding organization in its goal to be a Premier Amazon Systems Integrator and Managed Services Provider. Our organization has specialized in IVR development along with Messaging and RPAs for over 30 years and our experience of delivering outstanding solutions with exceptional quality is second to none. We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, ready to immediately contribute to our customer's success. Successful candidates will have experience in creating, maintaining and optimizing multiple AWS environments and will have certified SysOps Administration credentials. The successful candidate will typically carry out the following types of activities:

  • Manage AWS accounts using AWS Control Tower.
  • Establish configuration, compliance and audit program to effectively manage AWS accounts and resources.
  • Review cost-conscious designs. Manage cost optimization. Review cloud resources and cost drivers, compute, storage, network, managed services, database and service licenses, marketplace and accounts.
  • As part of our Managed Services offering for clients; monitor rightsizing, elasticity, storage optimization, and identify unused resources.
  • Manage account containerization and tagging for internal cost centers and end client billing feeds.
  • Monitor cost allocations, security compliance, budgets and set alerts across accounts, workloads, and users.
  • Use AWS Config to monitor and track resource configuration.
  • Set standards for resource configurations, evaluate configuration compliance and risk, and remediate configuration drift.
  • Use AWS CloudTrail for compliance audits by recording and storing event logs for actions made within AWS accounts.
  • Provision and take operational actions on potentially hundreds of applications and resources daily.
  • Set controls to monitor to assure compliance.
  • Establish account governance, i.e. Account structure, onboarding process, control policies, guardrails.
  • Manage timely billing feeds to finance and conduct monthly audit on accounts.
  • Support Finance and Billing teams in understanding Amazon charges for invoicing.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics or related fields, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience managing accounts in distributed systems environments
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering, control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Must have experience with account and user identity (responsibilities) administration in AWS. 
  • Must be very detail oriented and able to analyze requirements, cost and invoice data quickly and accurately to maintain accurate billing, operating plans and forecasts.
  • Well-rounded technical understanding of AWS services and cloud operation concepts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
  • Experience with Amazon CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CloudFormation/CDK scripts & AWS Networking
  • Sound knowledge on AWS Security principles
  • Control Tower experience
  • Experience with AWS management, governance, security, and serverless services.
  • Able to work in a diverse team
  • Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
  • Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
